The Mindful Parent 
The Mindful Parent is an organization devoted to sharing with parents and other child caregivers ways in which to enhance the many joys of parenting.  By mindfully attending to our children, both when we are physically present with them and when we are physically separated from them, we can enhance our sense of connection to them and, in turn, our connection to the cosmos.  This makes us a better parent, a happier person, and a more vital human being.
 
To facilitate a more mindful approach to parenting, The Mindful Parent publishes on its website, and in its bi-weekly newsletter, mindful parenting verses and commentaries.  The Mindful Parent website also serves as a community forum that encourages and supports a mindful parenting dialogue and the sharing of mindful parenting experiences.

The Daily Sip: The Cosmos Within Your Child
 
During a quiet time, when your child is asleep or relaxing, calmly observe your beautiful child.  If you are not physically present with your child, look at a photograph or visualize your child.   Breathe deeply and gaze lovingly.  As you look deeply at your child's body, marvel over the cosmos that sustains your child.
 
Open awareness to the sun whose light rays are alive and vibrant within the cells of your child's body.  Open awareness to the oceans, rain and wind, whose water hydrates and accounts for so much of your child's body.  Open awareness to Mother Earth, who produces in abundance the food your child consumes, the vitamins and minerals, proteins, sugars, and fats, integral to the functioning of every cell in your child's marvelous body.  The cosmos effortlessly brings forth all your child needs.
 
Today, take notice of the sun, the Earth, the rain, water, and wind.  As you do, connect with these always present forces of nature and feel their presence deep inside of you.  Then, turn your awareness to your child and sense these wondrous forces alive in your child's body, sustaining your child in this complex world.

               In whose eyes
               The cosmos sparkles
